The Program at a Glance

Step 1: Admission

Requirements for entry into the T2T Program

Meet the T2T admission criteria
Interview with a partner school district
Be selected by the partner district as a cohort participant

Step 2: Preparation - Phase I

Requirements for the Alternative Resident Educator License (AREL)

Complete 30 hours of relevant online coursework including hands-on field work
Participate in Saturday Seminars
Pass the Praxis II in Special Education

Step 3: Preparation - Phase II

Requirements for the Professional Educator License

Complete and additional 12 semester hours of coursework
Work as an intervention specialist
Participate in the Ohio Resident Educator Program while working under AREL
Take the Praxis PLT before expiration of the AREL

Step 4: Capacity Building

Requirements for the TESOL Endorsement (optional)

Complete two additional classes needed for the endorsement

Step 5: Lifelong Learning

Requirements for the Master's Degree (optional)

Register with a university advisor
Complete 12 semester hours in coursework needed for a masters's degree
