The Program at a Glance
Step 1: Admission
Requirements for entry into the T2T Program
- Meet the T2T admission criteria
- Interview with a partner school district
- Be selected by the partner district as a cohort participant
Step 2: Preparation - Phase I
Requirements for the Alternative Resident Educator License (AREL)
- Complete 30 hours of relevant online coursework including hands-on field work
- Participate in Saturday Seminars
- Pass the Praxis II in Special Education
Step 3: Preparation - Phase II
Requirements for the Professional Educator License
- Complete and additional 12 semester hours of coursework
- Work as an intervention specialist
- Participate in the Ohio Resident Educator Program while working under AREL
- Take the Praxis PLT before expiration of the AREL
Step 4: Capacity Building
Requirements for the TESOL Endorsement (optional)
- Complete two additional classes needed for the endorsement
Step 5: Lifelong Learning
Requirements for the Master's Degree (optional)
- Register with a university advisor
- Complete 12 semester hours in coursework needed for a masters's degree
